About Me

Hi, and welcome to my website!

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved to read.

When I was in junior high, I used to enjoy helping my Dad proofread assignments written by his high school students. In high school, my favorite projects were book reports.

I’ve read all of the old classics (many more than once), quite a number of non-fiction books, and hundreds, if not thousands, of fiction novels, novellas, and short stories.

I’ve discovered through the years that my favorite genre is horror/thriller, although I also enjoy mystery, historical literature, literary fiction, and pretty well any other well-written piece of writing.  I find it exciting to discover the work of new authors, especially when sequels, trilogies, or book series are available.

From the time I was a young girl, my father would correct my grammar (unless my friends were around!) which has proven to be invaluable to me in my everyday life.  I was also fortunate enough to be born with a natural knack for spelling.  As a result of these skills, the extended vocabulary I’ve developed through reading, and my enjoyment of losing myself in a great novel, I have decided to try writing my own stories.

For years I have proofread and edited the written work of others. I have worked as a freelance writer. I have helped university students with essays and dissertations.  I have written numerous articles for websites.  I have even worked as an editor for a published author.

But I’ve never seriously pursued creative writing on my own until recently. Sure, I wrote a few short stories and poems through the years, but never with a clear purpose in mind, and only as a once-in-a-while hobby.

During the past few months, I have been writing almost daily. And I’m having so much fun!  My ultimate goal is to have some of my work published.  I have a couple of short stories in the works and have also started a novel.

I am looking forward to discovering where this journey will take me!

Cheers,

Jen
